Selection of bits used with composites

Answered

I recently purchased the cnc feed and speed calculator and noticed that the material list has composites listed. I am wondering what bit should be selected as the common diamond tooth style cutting bit mainly used is not listed. Manufacture guidelines for the bits are listed on their site but arent for a particular setup. Using this software for carbon fiber/g10 composites would be helpful in fine tuning the cutting process if its even possible. Thanks in advance.

Daniel, you’re correct that we don’t have the diamond toothed cutters for composites yet, but there is another way.  Just select a standard carbide endmill and enter the manufacturer’s guidelines for surface speed and chipload.  G-Wizard will adjust for the particular cutting conditions and your machine’s capabilities.
