GCode is Complicated
G-Wizard Makes it Easy

How do I move my G-Wizard software to a new computer without losing my setings?

Best Answer

First thing is to download the software and install on a new computer.  You can find the download links by going through the “Help” menu at the top of any CNCCookbook web page.  The download links are near the top of that page.

Once you have it installed, it’s time to copy the settings over.  On the original computer go to Setup Files.  Get the location of the Preferences from that screen and use it to point your Windows Explorer or Mac Finder at the Preferences folder.  Copy all the files from that folder.

Now go to the new machine and find the Preferences folder there from Setup Files.

Lastly, copy the old Preferences files to your new machine’s Preferences folder.  Make sure G-Wizard isn’t running when you do this or it will just overwrite them when it exits.

You’re all done!
