slit saw

hi, i am slitting a 2″od (50mm) x 1″ id (25mm) x 1/2″ thick (12mm) – material medium high carbon content. the slit saw is 3 1/4″ (80mm) x 22mm? x 1/8″ (3mm) thick HSS, please, any suggestion will be most welcome. i am cutting on a CTEK KM180D.

You didn’t say how many teeth were on the slitting saw, so I can’t give too much feedback.  I will say that Medium to Hard Carbon steel is probably getting to be marginal for an HSS saw.  Carbide would be a better choice.
