Rockwell Hardness Tester

A Rockwell Hardness Tester…

I just finished uploading a new page for our Reference Charts and Calculators page.  It’s basically a Complete Guide to Hardness Measurement.  If you’ve spent much time poking around materials, especially steels, you will have come across hardness scales like Rockwell C, Brinell, or Vickers.  You probably wondered what all that was about, but I’m sure you got the general idea that the number was a measurement of how hard the material was. This page is here to fill in all the details as well as guide you through converting between the various systems should you need to.

Of course we guide you through how to use G-Wizard for all this too, since it has built-in Hardness Conversion charts so you don’t have to go searching through your handbook to find them.  I even added some new scales to G-Wizard’s existing charts.  I haven’t uploaded that version quite yet, but they’ll be there the next time you update to a newer version.
