Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

There are many ways to make money on the side using your metal art and plasma cutting skills.

Create beautiful metal work and sell it, either locally or via online portals.

Almost anything you can imagine, including:

  • Fence panels
  • Gates, railings
  • Fire pits
  • Fireplace Screens
  • Other Metal Furnishings

Considering power, gases, consumables, abrasives, and routine maintenance, CNC plasma cutters tend to cost around $15/hour to operate and maintain.

Conclusion

You get the idea pretty quickly of what can be done with a CNC Plasma Table.  A lot of this metal art could also probably be done with a CNC Router given a large enough table.  The biggest challenge there is most of these projects are done in mild steel while typically CNC Routers will have spindles that go too fast for mild steel.  Still, the plasma cutter projects could be done in aluminum, wood, or plastics with a CNC router.

What do you build with your plasma table that is your own design?  We’d love to see some pictures of your unique projects and metal art!
