G-Wizard Calculator v1.641 is a Feature Release
Here’s what’s new in 1.641:
- Added the ability to enter Manufacturer’s recommended chipload and surface speed right on the front page of G-Wizard. I’ll be doing a revised video and updating the docs shortly to describe how to use this feature. For now, if you want to use the feature, enter chipload and surface speed from manufacturer’s catalog without any adjustments for a normal (non-slotting) cut. G-Wizard will make the adjustments needed for the particular cut conditions (depth and width of cut) you describe. The Manufacturer’s numbers will show unadjusted while G-Wizard’s surface speed and chipload will show the adjusted values. Manufacturer’s numbers are saved in the Tool Crib, so you only have to enter them once.
- Revisited tapping and bumped up the speeds in a number of cases, particularly where carbide taps are in use. GW was being too conservative there.
- Added support for Ctrl-X, C, V (Cut, Copy, Paste) to various fields that were missing it.
- Fixed a couple of cases that weren’t switching between metric and Imperial properly.
- Added a simple servo and stepper motor sizing calculator under Quick Reference. Check out the new Motor calculator tab. I’ll add more there over time.
