Has anyone come up with plans for a wooden clock that roughly follows the design of the early "town hall" clock tower clocks that had mostly wooden gears, with a massive cast iron pendulum? I'd like to build one with an open frame that's 2 - 3 meters tall including the pendulum, perhaps motorized with a cleverly hidden synchronous motor so that it doesn't need to be wound, but otherwise it operates exactly as they did 500 years ago. This would be one serious piece of machinery!
