Cutting Edge CNC Knee Mill From the 70′s

Well, in truth I don’t know if it was really cutting edge or is a 60′s or 70′s machine, but I think these old machines are a hoot:

CNC Knee Mill

Note the tape drive and funky looking pneumatic mechanism to run the quill for Z…

As cool as it is, I know guys with retrofitted knee mills running Mach3 that would probably run circles around it and their machines are not even going to get close to a “real” CNC. Note the pneumatic quill has some “canned cycle” options for dwell and so on:

Weird and wonderful!
